Encina elects to pursue circular manufacturing projects in key global markets
Company will not move forward in Pennsylvania

The Woodlands, Texas – Encina Development Group, LLC (Encina), announced today that it will pursue projects currently under review or development in key global markets which include markets within the United States of America, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), and Southeast Asia. At the current time, Encina will not move forward with the construction of its circular manufacturing facility in Point Township, Pennsylvania.

The company’s CEO Dave Roesser, PhD, issued the following statement about the factors leading to the company’s decision and plans to move forward with the development process for other locations identified in the United States and abroad.

“Encina has had several key projects under review or development in the USA, KSA, and SE Asia for more than 18 months. Our extensive research shows that these projects offer Encina opportunities to meet the needs of our customers to provide their end products with ISCC+ circular chemicals to help meet their sustainability goals in the coming years at the scale they are expecting. The demand for these products required that our company reevaluate our engineering design to meet these larger end-product goals for our customers. Ultimately, our facilities must meet these increased demands, therefore, after careful consideration and thorough analysis, Encina’s management team has decided not to proceed with the construction of our circular manufacturing facility in Point Township, Pennsylvania but will move forward in our other customer markets.

We applaud former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and the Pennsylvania General Assembly who ushered in ground-breaking legislation classifying advanced recycling technologies correctly as those that fall under the purview of manufacturing. We also are grateful for the support we received from the Shapiro administration, elected officials, local trade unions, community partners, as well as our employees and investors. Your input and support were instrumental. While we were excited about the many attractive opportunities for expansion and growth in Point Township, we have determined that our current strategic objectives and long-term goals will be better met through this decision.”

About Encina Development Group
Encina Development Group is an ISCC Plus manufacturer of circular chemicals using an integrated single-stage catalytic conversion process, derived from end-of-life plastics otherwise bound for landfills or incineration. Encina’s technology breaks waste plastics down to the molecular level reducing the amount of fossil feedstocks required to create high-value, industrial-grade circular chemicals like benzene, toluene, and xylenes (BTX). These circular chemicals form the building blocks that global manufacturing customers use to meet their renewable content goals while enabling the use and reuse of plastics in industries such as consumer products, packaging, pharmaceuticals, and construction. Encina is based in The Woodlands, Texas. www.encina.com
